Young Readers at Brooklyn Book Festival Children’s Day

Families are invited to kick off Brooklyn Book Festival weekend at Children’s Day, a celebration of books, storytelling, and creativity designed especially for young readers. Held at Brooklyn Borough Hall, the free event features author readings, book signings, interactive workshops, performances, art projects, and hands-on activities that encourage a love of reading for children of all ages.
Throughout the day, families can explore dedicated stages and activity areas, including picture book readings, young reader programming, live performances, workshops, and a Makers & Creators space. The event is free and open to the public, making it a fun way for children to meet their favorite authors, discover new books, and celebrate literacy before the festival’s main event on Sunday.
