Jazz on the Plaza | Back to School Edition: William Paterson University

The most popular community-based jazz festival in New York City is pleased to welcome: About Jazz on the Plaza: The William Paterson University Jazz Ensemble The public outdoor plaza at 601 Lexington Avenue has hosted Jazz on the Plaza for more than 20 years. The public is welcome to attend these free midday concerts. A lot of folks either pack their own lunch or buy it from one of the many local vendors. Concerts start at 12:30 PM and last for approximately one hour. Jazz ensembles from nearby colleges are showcased in September as a means of promoting the continued growth of upcoming jazz performers. Although every attempt is made to host Jazz on the Plaza outside, bad weather may force the event to be moved inside to the Sanctuary of Saint Peter’s Church, where attendees are urged not to bring food or open beverages.
