Jazz on the Plaza: June Cavlan Quartet

June Cavlan is a New York City-based jazz vocalist who has won numerous awards. Legendary vocalists like Barbra Streisand, Shirley Horn, and Ella Fitzgerald served as inspiration for June’s distinctive and captivating renditions of songs from the Great American Songbook. June’s first performance, “A Portrait of June,” demonstrates not only her extraordinary vocal ability but also her abilities in vocal improvisation, composition, and arrangement. June performs in and around New York City, as well as in the Bay Area and her hometown of Santa Cruz. June Cavlan revitalizes this classic and cherished art form with a number of ongoing projects, her growing vocal jazz trio The Sunhouse Singers (Joie Bianco and Kate Kortum), and her developing partnership with her label, La Reserve.
