Bike Skills 201: Bike Handling Skills

Adults and mature teens who have just learned to ride a bike or who wish to hone their fundamental cycling skills can enroll in this three-hour on-bike course. Bike Skills 201: Bike Handling Skills is a free three-hour group course for people who want to hone their fundamental cycling skills or who have just learned how to ride a bike. You will learn how to choose a bike that is the right size, adjust the seat, complete a basic mechanical inspection to make sure the bike is road-ready, start and stop with confidence, swap gears, scan and signal, and avoid common road dangers.A parent or legal guardian must accompany students under the age of eighteen. The student’s name, not the parent’s or guardian’s, should be used while registering for this class.Helmets and bikes for loaners will be supplied.This class will be at Hudson River Park Trust’s Pier 76.
