SUMMARY:DON JUAN: Free Theater in Domino Park
DESCRIPTION:Molière in the Park offers a unique pop-up preview of the most subversive piece by the renowned playwright Molière. After enticing Elvira to breach her vows and wed him\, Don Juan has abandoned her. He and his devoted sidekick\, Sganarelle\, meet many of the people Don Juan has deceived over the course of one exciting day. His desire for violation seems unquenchable as he seduces women\, disobeys societal norms\, makes fun of religion\, and enjoys outrage. However\, it’s clear that the walls are getting closer. Will he really turn from his sins? Or\, like so many others around him\, will he simply act that way and follow the same course till the very end? Get a preview of DON JUAN from Molière in the Park as we get ready for the September run of our full production. One of Molière’s most exciting and thought-provoking works\, DON JUAN is directed by Drama Desk nominee Lucie Tiberghien and translated by Stephen Wadsworth. The play\, which combines comedy\, tragedy\, and the paranormal\, takes Molière’s examination of morals and hypocrisy farther than any of his previous works. It is a ferocious descent from seduction to reckoning. While Don Juan (Keshav Moodliar) and his devoted sidekick Sganarelle (Alana Raquel Bowers) remain the only constant figures in a world that is continuously changing around them\, three actors (Kaliswa Brewster\, Kalyne Coleman\, and Daniel Pearce) change before our eyes into over ten different characters in MIP’s staging.
