Finding funding can be tough, but there are great opportunities out there. This guide lists the Top 6 August 2025 grants in New York for business owners, community organizations, and educational programs.

Global NY Fund Grant Program

The Global NY Fund Grant Program is open to New York-based for-profit companies with 500 or fewer employees. Have exported or expanded export sales with at least 51% of their product or service value originating in NY or certified as a local producer. They are looking for Businesses that are at least one year old, financially viable, and show a need for funding. Eligible not-for-profit organizations must also be from New York, have a history of supporting businesses in export development, meet registration and prequalification requirements through Grants Gateway.

Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise Certification Program

The Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises Program is open to minority and women entrepreneurs to apply year-round with no deadline. Businesses must be at least 51% owned and controlled by women or minorities, operate for at least one year, and have a location in NYC or designated counties. The application is free, and certification lasts three years before you need to renew.

NY BRICKS

NY BRICKS applications open on July 14th with a submission deadline of August 15, 2025. This program offers eligible applicants grant money ranging from $250,000 to $15 million to support the acquisition, construction, or major renovation of community centers in underserved areas across NY. Applicants must provide a 20% local match to qualify.

Central New York Community Foundation

The Central New York Community Foundation Grant round opens on July 7 and closes its round on August 29, 2025. Eligible Nonprofit organizations in Onondaga and Madison counties are encouraged to apply for grants to fund innovative projects such as arts and culture, civic affairs, education, health, human services, and the environment. They are looking for 501(c)(3) tax‑exempt nonprofits, publicly supported organizations, and organizations using a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor.

Arts Accelerator Grant Program

The Arts Accelerator Grant Program is currently open and closes its cycle on August 15, 2025. Grantees receive a total of $25,000 to NYC public schools to create or enhance arts-related spaces that support increasing student engagement, strengthening social-emotional learning (SEL), or expanding sequential arts instruction. Grant money can also be used for consumable supplies, materials, equipment, or other resources that are arts focused.

Manhattan Community Award Program 

The Manhattan Community Award Program applications are now open, and its deadline is August 25, 2025. It offers grants ranging from $3,500 to $10,000 for Manhattan-based nonprofits and organizations working with seniors, youth, arts, composting education, and recreational programs. Applicants must select either the Department of Corrections or the Department of Education as their contracting agency.
